INFORMATION ABOUT THIS YEAR’S REGIONALS

Some things you need to know
There are regionals in Goshen, Hammond, Jeffersonville, and Terre Haute (all on February 24). Entry deadline is February 17 for all regionals. All teams from a school have to play in the same regional, but they can choose which regional that is. Although things get complicated for finals, it’s very simple for the regionals. You register, you pay, you show up, and you play! Read the flyer for complete details.
For all regionals: Doors open at 8:00 (or earlier), be there by 8:30, players’ meeting at 8:45, first round at 9. It doesn’t hurt to be a little early. Give yourself time to let your coach know you’re there so she can get her roster filled out and turned in. All regionals will provide sets and scoresheets. You might want to bring a pencil or pencils for keeping score, and if you want to use a clock, bring one. Concessions will be available. Don’t count on a leisurely lunch hour.
Regional locations
- Goshen – Goshen High School, officially at 401 Lincolnway E, Goshen, IN 46526, but use 706 E Madison St, Goshen, IN 46528 for your GPS. Park on the west side of the building, enter at the Main Entrance.
- Hammond – Central time! – Hammond Central High School, 5926 Calumet Ave., Hammond, IN 46320. Despite the address, there is no entrance on Calumet. Turn west on Highland Street just south of the school, and then you will take a right into the parking lot. There is a small parking lot west of the front off Highland. Any buses should park there. Central time!
- Jeffersonville – Jeffersonville High School, 2315 Allison Ln, Jeffersonville, IN 47130.
- Terre Haute – Honey Creek Middle School, 6601 South Carlisle Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802. Park on the west side of the building and the entrance to the parking lot is on Vigo Drive. You can see the school from US 41 so it’s very easy to get to.
How long will the regionals last? Good question. It varies a lot. Bigger regionals (Hammond) may have to play more rounds, and they can go a little longer. At Goshen, we have had groups done as early as 1:00. I don’t think we’ve ever had anybody go past 5. But count on a full day. I wouldn’t make any other appointments until well into the evening.
